The Executives and Members of the Ogbomoso Youths in North America (OYNA) condemn the barbaric act of killing and kidnapping in the five local government areas in Ogbomosoland, within the Yoruba territory, and across Nigeria. The recent kidnapping of school children across Community High School Aboro-Ekun and Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School in the respective villages in Oriire local government of Oyo State is pathetic.

The noble organization comprising the youth professionals of Ogbomoso Origin across North America frowns at the lack of value for human lives, lack of safety of lives and properties, and the incessant killing of innocent citizens by the unscrupulous elements.

We hereby call on the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the senator representing Oyo North senatorial district, Sen (Dr.) AbdulFatai Buhari, the honorable representing the Ogbomoso South/North and Oriire federal constituency, Hon Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, and the current local government chairman, Oriire local government, to ensure the immediate release of the kidnapped innocent children, the teachers, and the school principal held hostage.

We also call on our security agencies to step up their tactics beyond traditional man-to-man hunting, to use state-of-the-art technological equipment, employ technical personnel for precise location deciphering and timely apprehension of the terrorists, and make them face the full wrath of the law.

OYNA wishes to sympathize with the families and relatives of the casualties. We also call on all traditional rulers across Ogbomosoland to work together and confront this barbaric act of terrorism without delay. An injury to one is an injury to all.

Ogbomosoland is known as the land of the Valiants, who fought for their safety without minding individual differences. It is a trying time. Let us arise at once and defeat the monsters terrorizing our land.

We call on the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to focus on Ogbomosoland, secure the immediate release of the kidnapped children, and prevent the gruesome murder of government staff who were attacked while teaching and monitoring future leaders.

We plead with every citizen with useful information that can aid the safe and immediate release of the hostages to share such details with security agents without hesitation or fear.

Finally, OYNA is calling on the government to be proactive in securing the lives and properties of the citizens, which is a constitutional right of every Nigerian. We call for a change of approaches to current security challenges, to intensify intelligence gathering, strategic security personnel positioning and posting to the criminal hotspots, and rapid/immediate response to security threats, rather than delays, which have put the lives of many citizens in danger.
